At Indiana Plastic Surgery Center, we are committed to providing state-of-the-art cosmetic, plastic, and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Severinac is highly regarded by both patients and peers as an excellent surgeon and artist. His love of surgery clearly shows in his work.

Our practice also has a strong focus on continuing education. Dr. Severinac continually reviews the newest techniques in medical literature at seminars and with colleagues in order to offer his patients the latest advances in the field.

Our comfortable office offers a warm and caring environment where patients’ needs come first. We emphasize taking excellent care of each patient and believe good communication is vital to that care. Both the doctor and staff make themselves available to patients for questions, concerns, and discussion. Dr. Severinac is very approachable and spends a great deal of time in consultation with his patients, discussing their procedures and showing them before and after photographs of actual patients. Our office staff, which includes Jackie, Kelly, and Suzanne, constantly gets compliments from patients on their outstanding level of compassion and care.

Dr. SeverinacA skilled and artistic surgeon, Dr. Severinac combines a true love of surgery with state-of-the-art plastic and reconstructive techniques. He has been in private practice since 1995 and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. This certification, the “gold standard” for plastic and reconstructive surgery, requires rigorous training and examinations. In addition, Dr. Severinac is the co-founder and co-director of the Children’s Craniofacial Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The center specializes in a team approach to treating cleft lip and palate. Dr. Severinac’s passion for helping children with deformities was fundamental to his decision in becoming a plastic surgeon.

After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Kalamazoo College in Michigan, Dr. Severinac went on to earn his medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, graduating in the top 10 percent of his class and earning membership in the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society for his scholastic honors and extracurricular contributions to the community. He then completed his general surgery and plastic surgery residency training in Grand Rapids, Michigan, followed by a fellowship in Charlotte, North Carolina, emphasizing craniofacial surgery, which is where his skills in cleft lip and palate and aesthetic surgery were honed.

Dr. Severinac maintains active membership in several prestigious professional societies. These include the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the American Cleft Palate Association, the Indiana State Medical Association, and the Fort Wayne Medical Society.

The years have continued to bless Dr. Severinac and his practice. Primarily through word of mouth, Dr. Severinac has developed a very successful broad practice in plastic surgery to help his patients improve their appearance. He often says, "I'm really sort of a psychiatrist; it's just that I work from the outside in." This statement speaks volumes about Dr. Severinac's view on the effect cosmetic surgery can have on one's self-esteem and overall health. Many medical ailments are caused by anxiety, which is related to low self-esteem. Properly planned and performed plastic surgery can drastically improve self esteem, decrease anxiety, and help avoid disease processes. Dr. Severinac is passionate about his work, and it shows.

The only thing Dr. Severinac enjoys more than plastic surgery is being with his family. He is blessed with his wife Suzanne and four children: Nicholas (10), Luke (8), Alexis (8), and Joseph (6). His family is being raised with Christian teaching and values.

This value system is also extended to the less fortunate. Dr. Severinac frequently offers pro-bono reconstructive surgery to children and adults with severe facial deformities. In a recent case, he performed reconstructive facial surgery for a woman brought to him by a missionary group from Zimbabwe. She was badly disfigured in an automobile accident in 1997. After much prayer and two separate operations totaling 12 hours, she is able to lead a life out of seclusion and care for her children. Many of his cleft lip and palate procedures are preformed free of charge as well.

When not practicing his passion in plastic surgery, Dr. Severinac channels his creativity into music. He is a musician and a composer (piano, acoustic guitar, harmonica, percussion) and also plays in various bands.

Consultation
Call to schedule your consultation in our Fort Wayne or Warsaw office. You can ask to speak with our nurse, Suzanne, to discuss your goals and the procedures you are considering.

Your confidential consultation will begin with a warm welcome from Dr. Severinac's staff. A few papers are filled out in the waiting room prior to the consultation. You are then shown to an exam room, where you will see Dr. Severinac and discuss your desires. Next, he will leave the room to allow you to prepare for a physical examination focusing on your area(s) of concern. A chaperone may be present during the exam, and clinical "before" pictures are usually taken.

Following the exam, Dr. Severinac will discuss his recommendations with you in his private consultation room. This will often include a computer presentation, before and after pictures of his works, and in some cases, image manipulation of your photographs (the latter is most helpful for rhinoplasty and facial implant procedures). Then a discussion will follow to answer all of your questions.
At the conclusion of your consultation you will be given brochures, recovery information sheets, and consent forms. Jackie, our Accounts Manager, will discuss the surgical fee quote and options for payment. Kelly, our surgical technician and scheduler, is available to schedule your procedure should you wish to proceed.

You will also be encouraged to call the office or schedule a second consultation with Dr. Severinac, at no charge, should you have any questions regarding the recommended procedures or consent forms. Although not necessary, this second consultation is particularly valuable for "significant others" to become familiar with Dr. Severinac, his staff, and the procedures being considered.
